Galdós Editions Project

Benito Pérez Galdós (1843-1920) is widely regarded as being Spain's greatest novelist after Cervantes. The project produced new critical editions of his Torquemada novels.

Benito Pérez Galdós (1843-1920), a master of European realism, is widely regarded as being Spain’s greatest novelist after Cervantes. In the 30 novels which form the core of his achievement, Galdós bears unique witness to the public and private life of Madrid in the years when it began to be a modern city.galdos

The project produced new critical editions of the four Torquemada novels in hard copy and online. Drawing on the close co-operation of a number of institutions, its major target audience is the Spanish-speaking world.
