Mr Hartlib; I received not [your MS torn] 2: packets till yesterday because (not expecting them) I sente not for them; I muste for the presente returne onely my thankes &hope shortly to be out of your debte for the mony thowgh neuer for your kindenes.
I am very muche in debte &yf (by the woords of the 2: ordinances for Sir Thomas Fairfax &the Scotts army armyes yf I mistake not) I may receiue some releefe in these heauy pressures which one my broken estate, which haue hetherto soe depressed me as I haue noth not of late had soe muche as a very meane subsistence; I pray inquire diligently what relieffe landes &houses haue when the full valewe is owing owi owinge for them, &(yf you possibly can) let me knowe on tuesday; for it very muche concernes mee
