Deare freind
yowr last of the 14 octob. doth still complaine of the want of the originall obligation of Dr Sengell, I hope neuerthelesse by this tyme it is deliuered to yow by Mr Massernye one of the Lady Roxboroughs followers who is arriued into England as I understand. I haue lette yow know what I can doe in fundanius case; I think hee hadde not done amisse, if at first hee hadde told Rossingnol that hee was come of purpose to satisfie him in his desire towards Mr Comenius. hee will bee there putte to a great strait if hee bee not assisted; & not hauing perhaps the language to bee able to instruct a noble mans sonne in the Latin hee will find it hard to ridde himself out of the strait; I wish hee could bee assisted for there will bee little gotten upon credit from the French. yow mention a packet wherin should bee an Act for a Corporation of schoolmasters which I haue not receiued; nor is the packet wherin mr Cudworths treaties are come to me therefore I haue heretofore desired yow to lette me know by whom yow send the packets; that I may appoint somebodie at Rotterdam to call for them: the best is to giue them to the shipper & to addresse them to me with a recommendation to Mr Warren. yowr desire concerning the Additionalls to the treatie of Reading Scripture may in due tyme bee fulfilled. I long to see the treatie of the interest of England; & at my first leisure yow shall haue an inlargement of the discourse of Correspondencie among protestants. I was about the Correspondency of Learned men but found that it should bee written in Latin, which I cannot doe till I bee remoued; which I hope shall bee this weeke next comming for Lodgings are appointed for us but not yet furnished.
Mr Aethiop. writes to me from Vtrecht that they intend to Call hir into England upon some employment; shee tells not what, but if yow speake with the Ladye Clotworthy perhaps shee will tell yow yet lette it not appeare that yow haue any intimation from me.
Mr Rulice extract concerning the Reformation of the Palatin Court is trueth for so the businesse must bee intended if euer it take effect, but wee looke not now so much unto God as to men & outward appearance. my intimacie with Mr Hotton must come upon occasion of affaires, or upon his opening of himself to me if hee wants Satisfaction in any thing; as for the maintenance towards my worke from thence it is not to bee lookt for; nor will I euer expect to haue it from any Contributions: except the publicknesse of the worke bring it to me & the ioint intentions of those of those that are [catchword: interessed]
