Good mr Hartliebe
I pray send me word whether you haue heard from sir christopher de Berg, if he were now come, I could hartily wishe he could hire a horses for himselfe, & an interpreter & come down hither with [deletion] all convenient haste, for I purpose to keepe the business free for him if I can till the end of the next weeke, howeuer his charges shallbe borne & he shall not lose his jornye. & if he will come downe it is very like that I shall goe with him to couentrye. [deletion] but whether he be come or no pray let me hear from you. So with my very frendly salutations I leaue you to Gods fauor & blessinge & rest

This place is seuen miles from Torcester & till he come thither he is not to leaue london rode when he is ouer Torcester Bridge he is to leaue the rode & to turne away on the left hand to [Greenes?] Norton from thence [deletion] inquier the

way to <Medforde & from medforde> preston & from preston to Fawesly, wher he shalbe very welcome. If he want mony for his jorny I pray shew this letter to mr Iesope & intreat him to furnish him with 40s or 3£ what more shalbe wanting God willing I will supply when he comes hither & I hope to bringe him back againe to london. I thought good to write this much at aduenture because now the business is upon the last cast, which may be of great importanc both to himselfe, & his frends.
