Deare freind
these are to accompany Mr. Ellis & to giue him addresse to meet with yow, rather then for any account of that which I intend to write of. hee is a free man & ingenuous concerning yowr purposes & endevours for me to remoue me from hence yow may speake (if at all to him in case hee make inquirie) with reseruation, because it may bee some discouragement to him, & perhaps a preiudice to what wee haue in hand if hee should imagine my remouall to bee sudden; which truly I yet cannot represent unto my self: because I am resolved & setled to doe here what is to bee done in this station; as if I were to remaine here all my life: & if I find that God takes me awaye I shall haue this comfort that I haue not neglected what was to bee done here for the tyme.
I thanke yow for the thinges yow sent me the last weeke & this the bookes for my Children & the Catechismes are come to my hand. Mr. Ellis will take a care of the further disposall of them. I am much troubled at that which yow write to me of yowr Son, I shall not bee unmindfull of him in my prayers; & to morrow Godwilling yow shall heare further what I can aduise. in the meane tyme I shall commend yow to Gods fatherly direction & protection & rest
Yowr most assured &
faithfully deuoted
