Worthy Sir
I suppose it may not be vnseasonable to reviue the remembrance of our Ould designe, it being not altogether impossible (perhaps) to bring it to something, though former faire hopes haue failed. espetially if that (worthy) secret society once shew themselues, & become visible: Sir that you may see that I am not altogether hopelesse, I haue drawne vp the inclosed Paper: as you see: desiring your advice, & further assistance. perhaps you may ingage some or other in the businesse that will be cordiall in it: the design is not vnworthy of the consideration of the Parliament by whomsoeuer proposed: Many haue their hearts in to further it if they could: I haue acquainted one of our Burgesses here for the Citty of Oxford with it; who is a great louer of Planting Mr Whorwood: for whom I haue planted seuerall yeares: And this yeare againe I haue planted for him a new Orchard; & <hee> will doe more hereafter. He will offer it to the Parliament, when he sees a fit oportunity. I wish you could engage some others to second him:   Sir I pray let me receiue from you 2 or 3 lines from you how it is with you as to your old infirmities I hartily desire your health & happinesse:
And also what your apprehensions [left margin:] are of the present businesse: the bearer hereof will waite on you for your Letter at his retourne: so with acknowledment of my engagements I take leaue & rest
                                    Your servant
