Sir.
I returne you infinite thankes as for your weekly aduertisements so for the constant expression of your care & affection otherwise in the particulars so much concerning me. The one is indeed of importance & cannot be dispatched but with time, and opportunitie; for both which I referre my selfe vnto the Lords good Prouidence. But, if any resolution could be taken so soone, with any gentlewoman shee might haue good Companie to come ouer withall in one of our shippes there in lading, who I presume may be readie to sett sayle from thence shortly after Michelmas. Our generall Treaties for peace are now like to proceed: the Emperour haueing newly sent his ratification of the preliminary articles agreed upon, betweene his Ambassador and those of the Crowne. God Almightie send a period [left margin:] vnto our miserable distractions in England which ells [is like MS torn] to be the stage of warre rapine & [word missing, MS torn]
                                    I euer am
                                     Your most faithfull
                                       Frind & seruant
                                          I Averie
[45/3/44B]

               To my worthy Freind
               Mr Samuell Hartlib.
