these are to let you know that God hath brought us to Basel in safetie <&> that to morrow God willing wee are to set foreward towards Zurich. I haue not yet made my self knowen to any here, nor purpose to doe till I come to Zurich. the public newes of this places are that on Monday next which is the 1. Iune new stile Brisac is by the Prince of Harcourt to bee surrendred <left margin: to the Army which the French King hath sent to take possession of it> & the conditions agreed upon are confirmed by hostages on both sides which the Magistrat of Basel keeps till all things bee performed. this is all, saue that I long to heare from you who am y
