Literæ ad Mr Mar. 1 April 1640.
-Ex litteris S.W. Wal. - for the clause of your last to Mr Barn. which you were pleased to leave open for my reading (j meane the expression chiefely of both the precious men as your love doth style vs) made mee most forward to impart vnto you this adjoined Copy of Mr D. Letter with some alterations, wherin wee vse to place our prime and most solid delight. As for mee certainly j should cease to bee precious, if j should not continue to bee thus vile in these manifold transactions of a publick nature and to give all the glory to Him in whom wee live and mooue and haue our being. To his grace and safegard j doe heartily commend your Spirit remaining always     Yours truly to loue and serve you
