                          May. 21. 1660.
Right Noble Sir
     the 16. of May j wrote largely and sent divers communications with a Letter from worthy Mr Beale. These according to my promise and your desires are only to acquaint you with his case and condition. Himselfe in his last speakes to mee as followeth. - You are pleased to offer mee the comforts of Mr Evelyns assistance to regaine my office to bee Warden and Governour of St Katherins Hospital in Ledbury. What shal I returne for such great favours? And I dare engage my life to you, that no one of you will bee ashamed of this Hospital-busines when you shal heare what will bee prooved by them, that have alwaies viewed the Affaires of this County Some hints you may find in the enclosed to Col. Harley which I left vnsealed out of a great desire that Mr Evelyn might come to you in a lucky houre to see it, and that you and your son may see, what I can say to them that can [ever?] see what is Truth. The rest is here adjoyned. Whither this Affaire will take or not I cannot tell. But wee have an opportunity given vs to [left margin:] make known the various abilities of this pretious and excellent man which I humbly beg all my Friends that hee hay bee made known to our Worthies in his publick studies vpon this or any other occasions <to bee encouraged>. No more at present my tormenting fits comming too fast vpon mee but that I am now and ever
