Cup; pewter; plain baluster stem; bowl and base cast with decoration in relief; inscribed on bowl in decorative strapwork; in roundels, flower (?) heads alternating with escutcheons of a chevron between three roses; on base: two roundels with flower(?) heads and roundels with arms of City of London and of Pewterers' Company (on chevron between three tribes, three roses); on underside of base, on rim, traces of a touch-mark; on base: roughly scratched initials; base damaged and roughly repaired.
Inscription on bowl:
THOUGH WINE OFF GOOD TOO MUCH OF THAT WIL MAKE ONE LEAN THOUGH HE BE FATT
