3340ml
Leather bottle, inscribed 1659
Whilst not an official measure, the vessel has a capacity of 3340ml. This is approximately equivalent to three quarts of ale (3465ml), although it is closest to three quarts using the Winchester corn gallon (3342ml). Although the latter was intended for dry measures only, it was regularly used for wet measures as well, despite the resulting confusion.
