[Description taken from catalogue entry]
Leather tankard. The silver cartouche on the front bears the arms of Cromwell as Lord Protector, and on the silver rim the inscription "Oliver Cromwell 1653".
[This does not necessarily mean the object was made in 1653, as such additions were made later and could provide fake biographies for an artefact. The tankard may thus not be associated with Oliver Cromwell either]
