[Taken from catalogue entry]
Pewter baluster measure with waisted body, handle, flat hinged lid and large thumb-piece.
Volume/capacity: 6.5 pints
[6.5 pints/3693.7ml may either be 6.5 pints of ale (3755ml) or a small gallon of wine (3785ml). Despite it being closer to the former, its unusual capacity for ale suggests it is more likely to have been intended as the latter. It should be noted that the 6.5 pints entered in the catalogue may itself be approximate, as no exact capacity has been entered]
