We the inhabitants of Shouldham whose names are hereunder written, do think it good hereby to inform your good worships that there be many abuses and great disorders committed in our said town by reason of the many alehouses there being now three, whereas formerly (now of late time) there have usually been but one, and that one enough, We therefore do humbly crave of your good worships that some of them may be suppressed. And thus referring the matter to your worships good discretions we take our humble leaves.
