That your petitioner having a licence for the brewing and selling of ale and beer in Salford aforesaid and being by the late Constable Captain George Cranadge called to show it unto him, which accordingly was done by your petitioner's wife, he the said Constable took it from her, and being many times moved to return the same back would not but saith he hath lost the same, whereupon your petitioner is fined and a distress made of his goods not having done anything against the Laws of this realm in the said calling in that behalf provided. He humbly desires the Worships' Bench to take into consideration his condition being fined so unjustly by reason of the aforesaid wrong and that his fine may be called in and his goods restored unto him again and your petitioner will ever pray etc.
