Humbly showeth that George Ryle of Flixton alehousekeeper, contrary to the laws and statutes of this Commonwealth, doth keep a most disordered house and entertains bad company at unlawful times all the night through, with much quarrelling and brawling therein to the great annoyance of neighbours in the township aforesaid and persists in the same course after much warning and admonition to reform it. Also that James Ryle alehousekeeper (being an able man) denies to give entertainment to travellers and passenger, who many times for want of harbour and lodging are exposed to great perils and dangers his house standing commodiously for that purposeā¦ He humbly craves (as he is in duty bound) your Worship's Order might pass to the said alehouse-keepers, that travellers may find entertainment by them, and good order may be kept in their houses, or that they may be suppressed and debarred from the said calling.
