We the inhabitants of Everton whose names are hereunder subscribed do certify that William Trongham of Everton aforesaid while he kept alehouse keeps good order in his house and behaved and bore himself and family lovingly honestly and uprightly according to his licence. And therefore we desire and think fit that the said William Trongham (in regard both that the said house hath been an ancient alehouse and that he hath kept a good decorum in it) that he may have admittance and a licence to keep the same an alehouse again as formerly it hath been her performing (as he hath done) the contents of his licence and as is duty bound both he the said petitioner and we will ever pray for your worships.
