We the inhabitants of Worsley whose names are subscribed make bold to certify that Jane Horridge of Worsley aforesaid widow is a woman of civil carriage and never been or known or reputed by us or any of us to have kept any ill people or misdemeanours in her house but always been of good demeanour And having a house conveniently situated in the common highway, very useful for the accommodating of travellers and all labouring and wayfaring persons with meat drink and lodging both for horse and man and therefore think it fit and make it our request that the said Jane Horridge may be licenced to sell ale and beer within our said Township in the house where she now dwelleth.
