We John Harrison and Joshua Taylor having been informed of some miscarriages of Katherine Blomiley of Chorlton who your worships have lately granted a licence to brew ale do therefore desire not to conceal them but humbly desire that your worships would proceed suitable to her default against her. The said Katherine Blomiley hath no stabling for an horse nor convenient lodging or accommodation for a man, she on Sabbath days both before and since her late licence hath kept base order drinking in sermon time and out of sermon time till the persons have been distempered, she hath entertained gamesters at unlawful hours, she hath entertained thieves and vagabonds, she hath had stolen goods found in her hands, she hath entertained persons and granted them liberty to drink in her house till they have been so distempered that they have fought and wounded each other she hath kept music at unseasonable times her mother-in-law being dead in the house yet her revelling ceased not, she was once by your worships fined... but the business was so carried by Richard Heawood of Withington Churchwarden that she was rather encouraged rather than discouraged to offend again; she hath concealed poor labouring men when their poor wives and children with weeping eyes have come to enquire for them and hath by ill words and throwing of fire at them abused some of them: these things considered we hope your worships will approve of her as one much unfit to brew; and so we make bold to subscribe ourselves your Worships' most humble servants.
