Transcription
Showeth that about six weeks since your petitioners having been at a burial on the Lord's day and being labouring men and not accustomed to strong drink were somewhat overtaken and going into the Church in the time of the Sermon and reasoning the one with the other some uncivil words passed betwixt them which the Minister and Churchwardens did take as spoken to the disturbance of the congregation and forasmuch as poor men very sorry for their offence and ready to submit [to] your Worships' pleasure or order. Their humble request is their fine or punishment for their drunkenness may be mitigated, and for the future they hope to be of civil behaviour etc.
