Notwithstanding that some persons inhabitants within the parish of Bury, more out of malice than matter (as we conceive) have endeavoured by all means the ruin and undoing of Dorothy Hall of Heap widow, who hath spent the best of her time in the looking to, and caring for, her mother within Heap aforesaid not long since deceased; We being well known to the carriage and condition of the person, though she be very poor, yet hath lived honestly and in good repute, and hath gotten her livelihood these many years by brewing and selling of ale, in a house which she is now become tenant to from the Right Honourable Charles Earle of Derby, and being no other way able to live, and of consequence not able to pay the rent, we being well acquainted and assured of the premises do desire she may be licenced to brew and sell ale in the house where she now inhabits.
