CommentsPublicity copy stated - First performed in London in 1641 - this contemporary production of Brome’s comedy celebrates the vagabond world of pop, rock and alternative music.Springlove is a reliable and honorable steward, who works for his generous master Oldrents. Every year this young man feels the call of the open road, and wishes to travel with a band of beggars. Rachel and Meriel (Oldrents’ daughters) are a pop duo also eager to join the rock beggars in their jovial life of jamming, recording and photography. When they run away, merry hell breaks loose. Springlove, Rachel and Meriel are joined on the road by others seeking change: evil Oliver, covetous Martin, faithful Vincent, stalwart Hilliard, and the fresh-faced ward Amy. It’s a road movie that provides a meditation on freedom. There were 8 performances.
